Where are they now?

In 1999,Duane Waliser of the Marine Sciences Research Center was awarded a seed grant for his proposal,""Acquisition of a Real-Time Satellite Receiving System for Regional Environmental Research and Education."

The funding helped lead to the establishment of the Sound Science program which involved BNL partnerships with Drs. Michael Reynolds and Charlie Flagg. THe NYS Sea Grant provided the initial funding for this program and recently the EPA has provided support.  Additional information can be found on the Sound Science program web site: www.stonybrook.edu/soundscience.
