Here you can obtain detailed information on the textbook ordering process between Stony Brook faculty and the Stony Brook University Bookstore. To request books or supplies for your classes, all faculty members must submit a Textbook Requisition form.

How To Obtain a Textbook Requisition Form
Your department secretary should have some copies of the Textbook Requistion form set aside. The Provost's Liaison's Office also makes an effort each semester to distribute form copies to every department on campus around when the forms are due. Below we have also provided as a convenience to the faculty of Stony Brook both a downloadable, printable copy as well as an online form that can be completed and submitted over the internet. Always remember to keep a copy of the requisition for your own records.

Where To Send Your Requisitions
If you are submitting a Textbook Requisition via a PDF printout or a xerox copy, please remember to forward a copy to the Provost's Liaison and to keep a copy for your own or your department's records. If you are submitting a Textbook Requisition carbon copy form, send the white copy to the Bookstore, the yellow copy to the Provost's Liaison, and keep the pink copy for your own or your department's records. Contact information for the Bookstore and the Provost's Liaison can be found on the Contact Information Page.

Textbook Requisition Timeline
It is extremely important that you submit your orders either to the Bookstore or to the Provost's Liaison as soon as possible. If you submit your order past the specified deadline, the Bookstore simply cannot guarantee that your books will arrive in time for the start of classes. The sooner you submit your order, the more time the publishers have to deliver your books to the Bookstore. Depending on for which semester you are requesting books, the due dates are:

April 1st        - Requisitions for Summer
April 15th      - Requisitions for Fall
August 1st    - Requisitions for Winter
October 15th - Requisitions for Spring

If you have any questions about the textbook requisition process, please call the Provost Liaison at (631)632-9828 or the University Bookstore at (631)632-6550.
