A message to Faculty and Departmental Staff Members:

The Office of the Provost and the University Bookstore wish to thank the faculty and departmental staff members who returned their requisitions before or on the April 15th Spring 2000 deadline.

Early text requisitions allow the bookstore to buy books back from students for upcoming semesters. These titles are also featured in the textbook department with a yellow shelf tag. If the book is not available for the first two weeks that classes are in session, students will receive a $5.00 voucher to be used toward the purchase of the book.

This is a wonderful start but we still have a long way to go. With school only a few days away, orders were still coming in to the bookstore. Ideally, it would be nice for students to be able to get their textbooks in one place and before the beginning of classes.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!

HOT seal
The University Bookstore kicks off this semester with a "hot" new deal for students. Starting this fall, any book bearing the new "Hot Halfback on Books" sticker will be guaranteed to be brought back at ½ the purchase price. This hot deal guarantees students a ½ price back even if the book is not in demand for future semesters. The ½ guarantee will be honored as long as the student sells the book back prior to December 31, 2000. The seal must also be on the book cover at the time of the buy back. If the book does not have the seal on the cover, the book may be bought back under the usual Bookstore policy. Students who have seals but are not attached to the book cover will not be honored.

New Trade Book Manager

Desiree Kelly has been hired as the new Trade book manager at the University Bookstore. Before arriving at the University Bookstore, Ms. Kelly worked at the Matthews Bookstore. We welcome her to the West Campus University community and wish her much success. If you wish to contact Desiree please email her at bookstore@sunysb.edu or call her at extension 2-9747.
