Silvestri
Alison J.
Silvestri is a Senior at the University at Stony Brook, who will be graduating
in December 2001 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Upon the completion of
her B.S., Alison will be continuing her studies on the graduate level by
obtaining a M.A.T. in Chemistry. This is Alison’s second year with
Breakaways Camp and she is excited to have the opportunity to be back.
She is looking forward to a wonderful summer that will be both educational
and fun. |
Peter
Krates
Hello, my
name is Peter, and I am a third year student here at Stony Brook.
I am majoring in Cultural Studies and Sociology and hope to someday work
in law enforcement. I spent five years in the Air Force ROTC prior
to college, so hopefully that will help me out a bit. I am a Resident
Assistant here at Stony Brook, and also work for the Residential Safety
Program. I am really looking forward to the rest of camp, and the
unforgettable experiences it will bring your child. |
Bhumi

Hi!!!! My
name is Bhumi I just completed my Masters in Education this past spring,
and this coming fall will be student teaching in a nearby school district.
I was a counselor for the Breakaways Camp last summer, and, as is this
summer, it was an absolute blast!! The kids are wonderful and I enjoy having
something to laugh about each day. Although we still have a whole
week left together, I already know that I will dearly miss the kids and
all of the fun we've had at camp.

My name
is Patrick. I am originally from Hong Kong. This is my sixth
year here in the U.S. My major is Business Management. I enjoy
singing, movies, and reading. I am very dedicated to everything I
do. I like to challenge myself , thus I try to get involved in as
much as possible in school. I am a Resident Assistant, Academic
Peer Advisor, and a Math Instructor. I teach a math class at Stony
Brook. I had volunteered in the pre-school when I was a freshman and I
am very happy and content to be around children. |
Colleen
Jacobs
Colleen
Jacobs is a senior at Stony Brook University studying Psychology with a
minor in Child and Family Studies. Colleen has done extensive research
in the area of Alcoholism and Family Violence through the Department of
Psychology. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Colleen
plans on attending graduate school to obtain a Psy D., specializing in
eating disorders and adolescent issues. This is Colleen's first year
with the Breakaways Camp, and is very excited to be a counselor.
She looks forward to a new and wonderful experience this year during camp.

Hello my
name is Leo and I am your friend. I am going to be a senior at Stony
Brook this fall and plan to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in English
with a Teaching Certification. Who knows, maybe I will see some of
the campers in High School English. I can't wait to be that cool
teacher that I never had but always heard about. Feel the vibes and
follow the mohawk. A closed eye is one that sees the World best.

My name
is Sheon Bacchus and I am a Sophomore here at Stony Brook. I'm a
good student and I'm currently majoring in Information Systems. During
the school year I work for Residential Safety in which I enforce the student
conduct code so all students can coexist on campus in a safe manner.
I enjoy playing sports and working with kids, which is what inspired me
to become a Breakaways Counselor.

Chris Neumann
is a first year graduate student studying Community Health Education at
the Stony Brook Health Sciences Center. Chris is also a part-time
Health Educator at the Stony Brook Student Health Services. Upon
completion of his education, Chris plans on being a College Health Educator
or Patient Educator at a healthcare facility. Chris is also the Webmaster
for camp web site, so if you have suggestions for improvement, please don’t
hesitate to send him an e-mail. Chris looks forward to his second
year at SB Breakaways Camp.

is Nikiya Scott, formerly in the Army. I am a transfer student from
SUNY Cobleskill, where I completed my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.
Currently, I am my major is Social Sciences Interdisciplinary with a minor
in Child and Family Studies. In the future I hope to become an elementary
school teacher. This is my first year with the Breakaways Camp and
I am looking forward to a fun and enjoyable time at the camp. |

is Nikki, I recently graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a Bachelor of
Arts in Sociology. I will be pursuing a Masters degree in Social
Welfare starting in December at Stony Brook. I hope to work as a
Social Worker in a high school with children like yours. I am happy
to have had the opportunity to work with your children because they bring
a smile to my face. I am really going to miss them when they leave. |
