Charles Franco is currently coordinator and academic advisor of the Italian Program in the department and Medieval Studies for the university. He has been chair of the department since its inception for the last six years; previously he was chair of the Department of French and Italian. His area of interest is Dante, Boccaccio, and Medieval Italian literature. He has edited and published for the web Cotter's translation of the Divine Comedy and Tusiani's Dante's Lyric Poetry. In addition to his commitment to the department, he teaches EEP (Electronic Extension Program) courses for the School of Professional Development.
