Masters Degree
The Economics department does not admit students who seek only a Master's degree. Students can earn an M.A. degree while pursuing their Ph.D. The M.A. degree is attained by completing a minumum of 30 economics credits in courses comprising the beginning courses of the Ph.D. program. This can normally be achieved by the end of the third semester. Candidates for the M.A. degree must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
