Robert Bloomer

Robert Bloomer received his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, and after teaching at the University of Bayreuth in Germany from 1989 to 1993, he joined the faculty at Stony Brook. He is currently working on a manuscript that deals with the process of borrowing from various languages into German.


Publications

Monograph, System-Congruity and the Participles of Modern German and Modern English: A Study in Natural Morphology. 1994. (Beiträge zur germanistischen Sprachwissenschaft, 6. Hamburg: Helmut Buske Verlag) and numerous articles on aspects of participles as well as on word-formation, etymology, and pedagogy.
