Understanding Call Numbers

Call Numbers group library material into categories by subject and are used to locate material on the shelves. You will need these numbers when looking for books and journals. Use STARS, the library catalogue, to find out what's available in the library on your topic and what the call numbers are. The Library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification System to assign call numbers to Library material. To learn more about call numbers, read the tutorial.

Most of the Computer Science related material is in the CS Library. Check STARS, the Library Catalog, for book locations and call number. If you seek assistance at the CS Library circulation desk, make sure you have the call number available to librarians.
