Bruce Stillman is the Director of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. He is also Director of the Cancer Center at CSHL, a position he has held since 1992. Dr. Stillman's research focuses on understanding the mechanism and regulation of chromosome duplication in living cells, a process that ensures accurate inheritance of genetic material from one cell generation to the next. For his research accomplishments, he has received numerous honors including a MERIT award from the National Institutes of Health, election as a Fellow of The Royal Society, and election as a Charter Fellow of the Molecular Medicine Society. Dr. Stillman serves on the Advisory Boards of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in the UK as well as a number of cancer centers. Dr. Stillman was a member and is currently Co-Chair of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Cancer Institute.
