Discussion Moderated by Ed Casey

The relationship between philosophy and psychoanalysis has an intense history of mutual influence as well as mutual misunderstanding. Where does this relationship stand today? And how might we rethink it at this moment in thought? In this signal and timely event, two practicing psychoanalysts with major commitments to philosophical thinking will address certain philosophical aspects of psychoanalysis, drawing especially on the work of Heidegger, Lacan, and Derrida.
