The Transatlantic Collegium of Philosophy

Marburg Sunset, photo by Ed EmmerEach year three students who have finished three years of their graduate studies and who have made satisfactory progress toward completing their requirements will be selected to become part of the Transatlantic Collegium of Philosophy.  The Collegium is a joint venture between Stony Brook and Emory Universities, on the one side, and the Universities of Marburg and Wuppertal, on the other.  Scholars will work with the Collegium for two years.  Students will spend at least one of those years at either Marburg or Wuppertal conducting dissertation research, taking a special Collegium seminar co-taught by a Stony Brook and a Wuppertal or Marburg professor, and attending advanced seminars that further their own work.  (Some of the most highly distinguished figures in philosophy, as well as in allied fields, are found in these German universities.)
