The minor in philosophy require 18
credits including at least nine credits
in upper-division courses. Emphasis from which to choose
include history of philosophy; logic, science,
and technology; moral, political and legal issues; literature
and the arts. Interested students should consult with the department's
director of undergraduate studies for details about specific courses
contributing to each emphasis and for help in planning their schedules.
Courses used to satisfy minor requirements
must be taken for a letter grade and must be passed with a
grade of C or higher. No more than one 100-level
course may count toward satisfying the minor
requirements.

Minor 3: Moral, Political, and Legal Issues
- One of the following: 103, 104, 105, 108, 150

Minor 4: Literature and the Arts

It is also possible for a student to design a minor tailored to his or her own interests, subject to
the approval by the Director of Undergraduate Studies in philosophy. Such a minor must be
approved in the department before it is declared at the registrar.
