Clubs & Organizations
The Undergraduate Student Government is the student government at Stony Brook University. Here at Stony Brook Southampton we have a Board of Finances, which is allocated money that comes from your student activity fee. This fee helps fund clubs/organizations on campus and various students run events.
The following clubs on campus were the stepping-stones to the expansion of campus life. If you are interested in joining these clubs or if you would like to start a new club, please email us!
Commuter Student Association
To foster a sense of community among commuter students including but not limited to social, academic and environmental events.
Garden and Greenhouse Club
To learn about plants and plant care using organic and sustainable methods of gardening, greenhouse care and propagation of plants and managing disease and pests.
Hall Council
To provide all resident students with an opportunity to address questions and concerns about the residence halls and to plan and execute on campus activities for resident students.
Innovative Trends
Based on the new wave of environmental technology, learn and experience the emerging connection between the business world and the concept of sustainability.
Marine Biology Club
The purpose for this organization is to educate students on marine organisms, estuaries, tank fabrication, maintenance, proper care, feedings, and medical treatment for marine organisms.
Sands of Time
Sands of Time will serve as the club dedicated to creating a newspaper for Stony Brook Southampton. We will work to represent our college in all of its aspects. Club activities will include attendance and representation at most or all SBS functions, as well as the possible written and photographic recording of such events. Scribes
To provide a way for student writers to express themselves in a trustworthy environment. To provide inspiration and tools that will help student writers compose creative work.
Scuba Club
The SB Southampton Scuba Club is an organization where anyone interested in Scuba diving can get together to discuss and enjoy the sport. Includes meetings, trips, fundraising, and organization for people who are interested in getting certified.
Southampton Gaming League
The purpose of this organization is to plan gaming events for the students of Southampton. It also is described in the "Statement of Purpose" filed with the Department of Student Life.
Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Club
The purpose of this club is to promote activism and awareness of wildlife conservation and environmental preservation locally and around the world. Some activities include fundraising to donate to organizations, volunteer in the community, repair osprey nesting poles, beach and park clean-ups, Earth day and Arbor day events, and Earth Hour.
