Student Counseling Center
WELCOME to the Stony Brook Southampton Student Counseling Center website!
Counseling is available to students dealing with everyday problems related to college life, as well as students with more serious problems. The Counseling Center services focus on health promotion and wellness for all students. The Student Counseling Center also offers education, counseling and referral services for students struggling with substance use, abuse, and dependence.
The Stony Brook Southampton Student Counseling Center is located on the lower level of Southold Residence Hall.
Strict confidentiality is maintained. The Center provides individual, couples and group counseling. Educational programs and screenings are provided throughout the year.
Students are encouraged to make an appointment even if they are not sure what they need and don’t know if counseling would help. There is no charge for counseling visits; all counseling services are funded by University fees. If a student is in need of specialized psychiatric evaluation, the Student Counseling Center will make a referral for a psychiatric evaluation.
