The Dean of Students Office prepares a new generation of leaders to adapt to a changing world and to understand the larger issues facing our society.  We'll help you become an agent of change through leadership development, personal growth, active participation, and civic engagement.

Vision

The Dean of Students Office at Stony Brook Southampton is committed to providing a student-centered, co-curricular environment that promotes educational, personal and professional growth.  Founded by Anamaria Cobo de Paci, August, 2007.

AdvocacySupport, advise the needs and concerns of our students by creating a caring and just campus community.

Leadership:  Encourage students to challenge their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses through a variety of on-campus opportunities and community outreach.

Stony Brook Southampton Community Outreach and Volunteer Service Program

The Stony Brook Southampton Dean of Students Office is a significant player in shaping the future of the community on campus and locally by educating students on the importance of civic engagement.

The Community Outreach and Volunteer Program (COVP) addresses four goals education, leadership, advocacy and community building. The COVP will teach individuals or student organizations to create partnerships, develop career opportunities, become active participants, and change agents of our society.
