SPD's Graduation Ceremony To Take Place On Wednesday, May 21
Join SPD as we honor our Spring graduates. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday evening, May 21, at 5:30pm in the Student Activities Center (SAC) Auditorium. An informal reception will immediately follow in the Main Lobby.

All graduates of SPD programs (and their friends and families) are invited to attend, provided that they have sent in the SPD Student Response Form to SPD's invitation. If you filed for graduation but did not receive an invitation, please call the SPD Advisement Office at 631-632-7050 (option 3).

Phi Delta Kappa—General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, June 4
Eric Lane will deliver a presentation titled “Are We Still Americans?" at the next PDK General Membership Meeting. Professor Lane is the Eric J. Schmertz Distinguished Professor of Public Law and Public Service at Hofstra University. The event takes place in room 301 of the Wang Center and begins promptly at 6:00pm. Refreshments will be served.

New Pre-Health Program Launched
If you are interested in a health career but lack the undergraduate preparation, SPD has a new program for you. Post-baccalaureate students may take undergraduate coursework at Stony Brook University to prepare for careers in medicine, dentistry, or other health-related fields. The coursework, coupled with the advisement resources of the Academic & Pre-Professional Advising Center (Melville Library, second floor, Room E2360) will help to prepare you for the application process to medical school.

HRM Programs Now Fully Online
SPD has received New York State Education Department approval to offer our Master of Professional Studies and Advanced Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management programs in a completely online format. Now current or aspiring HRM professionals have even more flexibility to pursue their graduate studies.

SPD Launches New Online Certificate Programs in Fitness, Nutrition and Wellness
SPD is now offering six non-credit certificate programs for allied health professionals, trainers, business owners, and exercise enthusiasts who seek to continue their education and obtain professional credentials. The program is offered in partnership with Educational Fitness Solutions, a leading national provider of online fitness and health education. From AGC to Ed.D.: SPD's New Articulation Agreement with Seton Hall University
SPD is proud to announce articulation between its Educational Leadership AGC and Seton Hall University’s Executive Ed.D. Program in Educational Administration. The Ed.D. program requires only 54 credits to the doctorate after acceptance of 45 transfer credits, including credits earned in SPD's Educational Leadership program and other course work from your master’s degree. »Details

New SHRM® Professional Human Resource Management Certificate Programs
In partnership with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), SPD offers courses to help HR professionals obtain Professional Human Resources (PHR®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) designations.
