Program Description

Students have the opportunity to earn twelve Stony Brook credits at St. Antony's College, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. St. Antony's College is Europe's leading institution of its kind in global studies, and the University of Oxford is one of the world's most prestigious universities. Students will take a minimum of 12 credits of study, with the additional option of an independent study with a faculty member. The courses are integrated with weekend excursions to historic, artistic, civic, political, and social institutions. In addition, students will visit the Oxford City Council, and important civic, commercial, and industrial institutions. Classes will be held in the lecture hall of St. Antony's College.

Program Highlights

  • Proposed weekend excursions include: the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the Pitt Rivers Museum of Ethnolgraphy and Cultural Creativity, Oxford University Museum of the History of Science, the Bates Collection of Musical Instruments, Christ Church Pictures Gallery, Oxford University Botanical Gardens, and Harcourt Arboretum
  • Visits to the artistic and scientific centers of Oxford University and its forty four colleges and permanent halls.
  • Access to some of the University of Oxford's prestigious institutes for international studies.
  • Satisfy requirements for the International Studies minor; for History, Anthropology, and Africana Studies majors, as well as for Stony Brook University's diversified curriculum requirement.

Students will stay in St. Antony's College's modern accomodations .

Health Insurance

Stony Brook University offers international health insurance for those who do not have adequate coverage.
