Elizabeth Bojsza graduated from
Stony Brook University's MFA dramaturgy program in 2004, and has
stayed on at Stony Brook as a faculty member. As the department
of Theatre Arts' Director of Education, Ms. Bojsza mentors and
supervises graduate students in their teaching practice. She also
teaches public speaking, screenwriting, performing and performance,
and co-teaches Prevention Through the Arts with Kathleen Flynn-Bisson.
She is also assistant head of graduate studies for the department.
While a student at SBU, Ms. Bojsza was the 2002-2003
executive producer of the graduate-run Cabaret, artistic director
of the
2003 Long Island Play Project, and directed and dramaturged several
shows. Directing credits include Betty's Summer Vacation, The
Pitchfork Disney, and the Vagina Monologues. Dramaturgy
credits include The
Rover, Quadrophenia, and Two Rooms. Ms.
Bojsza was recently employed at Manhattan Ensemble Theater and
received the John Gassner Award
for Dramaturgy in 2004.
For part of the spring 2006 semester, she will
be working in Camden County, Georgia as the assistant-director on
a community-based performance project titled “Crooked Rivers,
Sisters Three.”
