The Women's and Gender Studies Program at Stony Brook now offers a free-standing graduate certificate. Historically, students had to apply to the graduate college and matriculate into an existing department (e.g. English, History, Sociology, Philosophy, Music) and complete the Certificate Program in addition to the program in the home department. Now, students can apply to the gradaute school and enroll directly into the WaGS Graduate Certificate.
