What happened to the "Writing Program"?

Via SOLAR System.

What classroom is my writing course in?

Check our WRT sections and classroom numbers page. If you just added a WRT course, your class may have changed rooms, or it may be meeting in a computer lab. If the WRT sections and classroom numbers page is incorrect, drop by the Bulletin Board inside Humanities 2005.

Why was I dropped from my WRT course?

How do I drop a course?

Via SOLAR System.

How do I add a course that is open or change my section?

Via SOLAR System.

Can my instructor sign me into his course?

NO. Neither the department nor the instructors keep waitlists.

Which classes have openings?

The only way for you to determine this is to come to participate in the Add/Drop process through SOLAR System . Enrollments will constantly change as Adds/Drops take place throughout the day, since Add/Drop takes place on a first come, first serve basis.

Can I be put on a waiting list?

NO. Adds/Drops are done on a first come, first served basis.

Which classes are reserved for the Learning Communities?

Check back later, at the beginning of the fall or spring semester, to review reserved sections for that semester.

Who is my instructor?

Check out our list of instructors and the times at which they teach; or see the bulletin board outside the department office (near Humanities 2005).

What are my instructor's office hours? (Click here to see.)

You can also check the bulletin board outside from the department office (Humanities 2005).

How can I contact my instructor?

You can find out his/her address in the campus phonebook. Most instructors can also be e-mailed off of their faculty web page. You can also call the department main office at (631) 632-7390 and leave a message for your instructor.

Can I be put on an instructor's waiting list?

No. Instructors do NOT keep lists. (See section on Course Information).

How do transfer students register for a WRT class?

Students who have a filled transfer evaluation form (you can obtain one from the Transfer Office located in the Administration Building Room 134), register accordingly via Solar System.

Where can one obtain a transfer evaluation form?

If you don't have a filled transfer evaluation form, you must go to the Transfer Office and obtain one.

Where can one obtain permission to register for 101/102 after filling out a transfer evaluation form?

After you have obtained a transfer evaluation form and still need permission to register for WRT 101/102 due to your placement score not in the system, contact the main office located in Humanities 2005 or call 632-7390.
