Long Island Postcard Digital Collection
View more than 150 postcards produced between the early 1900s and the 1930s that depict places and people primarily located on Long Island, New York.

Charles Henry Miller Collection
Comprised of 45 oversized plates, Charles Henry Miller’s drawings of regional landscapes, bucolic nature scenes, and buildings were etched by August Barry; the engraved etchings on paper were published in New York in 1889. Miller (March 20, 1842–January 21, 1922), who resided in Queens and East Marion, New York, was known for his prose, paintings, and sketches. A recipient of many prestigious art awards and prizes, his works were exhibited around the world in the late 19th century. Poet Bayard Taylor referred to Miller as “The artistic discoverer of the little continent of Long Island.”

Long Island: Documents
Special Collections acquired two exciting American Revolutionary War-era letters authored by George Washington that document spy activities in Setauket, NY during 1779 and 1780. The purchase of these letters was made possible with a generous gift from Dr. Henry Laufer and laid the foundation for the establishment of a Long Island Historic Documents Collection. The collection includes primary and secondary source material on the history of Long Island from the earliest settlers through the present, with a strong emphasis on the period of the American Revolution through the War of 1812 (1764-1812).

V. Max Fink M.D. Digital Collection
Includes nearly 7,000 items (20,000 pages) of Dr. Max Fink's original notes on experimental psychiatry, outgoing letters to colleagues, professional writings, and an autobiographical memoir completed in 2017. 

VI. Otto F. Ege: Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts
Study the Ege-compiled portfolio “Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts, Western Europe, XII-XVI Century.” Special Collections owns portfolio “No. 19” of the 40 unique sets created by Ege. The rectos and versos of each leaf, context cards, and housing have been photographed and fully described in accordance with Dublin Core and VRA metadata standards. The University Libraries created the collection to increase accessibility to the manuscripts and to aid efforts by students and scholars to “virtually” reconstruct the books from which the scattered leaves were taken.

VII. WUSB 90.1 FM: Abbie Kearse Collection
Listen to three interviews conducted by Abbie Kearse, a Peabody Award winning television producer and writer, when she a teenager and staff member at WUSB 90.1 FM. The interviewees are musicians Billy Idol, David Johansen, and Eric Bloom (Blue Öyster Cult).

VIII. AIDC 100 Archive
The George Goldberg Memorial Digitization Project is named in honor of AIDC industry pioneer George Goldberg. Founded in 1997 with his wife Teddy, SCAN Newsletter and the international edition were important sources of information and communication within the AIDC industry. Issues have been digitized and can be freely accessed online.
